I will also start connecting the grow beds today with some pipes and stuff to get the water to flow from the tank to the beds but also from the beds back to the fish tank. The tank to grow bed will be connected using some hose i have and the drain back to fish tank will be done using some smaller PVC pipes i bought over at Aquaristic.net for both this and some other projects.
Bellow are some pictures of the finished tank (no fish or stuff on this picture, ill get one up soon) and also 2 nests that some of my tilapias have made in my bigger tank.

Any chance at an update on your system? I have enjoyed watching its construction and would love to see the completed system!

Hello fellow aquaponist,
ReplyDeleteDo you know the ZipGrow towers, developed by Dr Nate Storey of Bright Agrotech?
These towers are probably the smartest growing system for aquaponics, as they combine a mechanical filter and a bio filter* in a highly productive vertical growing system**. If you're not familiar with ZipGrow towers: discover the genius here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81GPqH74E94) ***, or look up zipgrow.com.
I'm contacting you because ZipGrow towers are now available in Europe! Our company, Refarmers, was granted the ZipGrow TM licence for Europe. We recently launched a webshop (refarmshop.com) and can ship anywhere in Sweden, in the rest of Europe, and even beyond.
We are also building an aquaponic/bioponic pilot-farm in Lyon, France, which will be operational next Spring.
I’d be happy to connect with you,
Eric @ Refarmers
PS: it's been a while you haven't posted anyhting on your blog. How are your aquaponic projects doing?
PPS: The holiday season is a time of celebration …and of heavy traffic slowing down deliveries. So we’re happy to offer you a 10% discount on the whole refarmshop for the rest of 2015: use the voucher ZIPGROW15.
*ZipGrow towers use Matrix Media, which offers a biological surface area of 960 m²/m3. In comparison, clay pebbles (Light expanded clay aggregate) offer only 250 to 300 m²/m3.
** 2 to 3 times more productive per m2 than traditional horizontal or tower systems on the market.
*** Warning : this may lead you to watch the several dozen other videos posted by Bright Agrotech, educating growers about small-scale aquaponics and hydroponics !
